Shift Technician

Lancing, West Sussex

At Rabbit, we are proud of the way we work. We are a family-run business with deep local roots, and we look after our people just as carefully as we look after our operations. We are now looking for a Shift Technician to join our energy-from-waste team at our Lancing site.

This is a hands-on, operational role at the heart of the plant. Working as part of a close-knit shift team and reporting to the Shift Team Leader, you will help keep the site running safely, efficiently and in line with environmental and regulatory requirements. You will be trusted to take ownership of the plant during your shift, respond to issues as they arise, and support both routine operations and maintenance activity.

You will be involved in monitoring and operating plant equipment, carrying out inspections and basic maintenance, responding to alarms and breakdowns, and supporting planned and unplanned outages. Safety, housekeeping and accurate record keeping are central to the role, as is working collaboratively with colleagues and contractors to keep everything running smoothly.

Salary and progression

• Starting salary from £32,524.46 per annum
• Clear progression available through a graded structure, with salary increases as you develop in the role

Shift pattern and benefits (summary)

• 2 days on, 2 nights on, 4 days off
• 12-hour shifts on a rotating day and night pattern
• Overtime available and paid at enhanced rates
• Performance-related bonuses
• Pension scheme available after probation
