Rabbit is a family-run skip hire and waste management company based in Lancing, West Sussex. We have been operating since 1988 and deliver skips across West Sussex, East Sussex and Brighton & Hove every working day.
Same-day or next-day delivery is available in most postcodes. If your skip is going on a public road, we apply for the council permit on your behalf and include the safety lights and cones in the price.

SKIP Permits across Sussex
Three permit authorities cover our delivery area. Which one applies to your job depends on where you live.
West Sussex County Council
Covers the whole of West Sussex including Worthing, Shoreham, Lancing, Horsham, Crawley, Chichester, Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Littlehampton and Bognor Regis. Five working days’ notice required, 14-day permit standard.
Brighton & Hove City Council
Covers Brighton, Hove and Portslade. Runs its own system with three working days’ notice for skip bay suspensions. Most streets are in controlled parking zones, so a bay suspension is usually needed alongside the permit.
East Sussex Highways
Covers Eastbourne, Lewes, Newhaven, Seaford, Hailsham and the rest of East Sussex. Applications through East Sussex Highways, fees vary by duration. Whichever area you are in, we handle the permit as part of your booking. Just select on-road at checkout.
Common skip sizes in Sussex
The right skip size depends on the job, not the town, but there are local patterns worth knowing.
- Terraced streets in Brighton, Hove and central Worthing: 4-yard midi skips are popular because they fit in a single parking bay
- Semi-detached and detached homes with driveways across West Sussex: 6 and 8-yard builders skips are the most common choice
- Larger renovation and new-build work in Horsham, Crawley and Mid Sussex: 10, 12 and roll-on roll-off skips
- Small garden clear-outs and flat renovations: 2-yard mini skips
